Join us for quick, focused sessions on key nonprofit topics in a convenient lunchtime format. The Lunch and Learn series provides short trainings that fit easily into the workday. Each session highlights one concept or skill area relevant to nonprofit professionals. Topics change throughout the year, offering flexibility and variety, and participants gain useful takeaways they can apply immediately.

OKCNP Lunch and Learn: Best Self or Stressed Self?

Description

Non-profit leaders are driven by purpose, but the demanding nature of the work often leads to burnout and stress. This session is designed to equip you with the essential tools and self-awareness needed to move from a reactive, stressed state to a proactive, intentional "Best Self."

Participants will leave with an understanding of how they show up as leaders and a personal action commitment to immediately improve their energy levels, enabling them to lead their organizations with greater clarity and sustainability.

Date: Thursday, January 22

Time: Check-in opens at 11:30 a.m. Event runs from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Cost: OKCNP Members: $20 Non-member: $40

Meet Your Speakers:

Sara Walker, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Advisor, Solomon Strategic Advisors

Sara Walker has two decades of experience as a leadership advisor, known for her work facilitating team performance, organizational culture design and guided implementation of leadership development programs. With a focus on team dynamics and growth strategy, she helps organizations build alignment, resilience and clarity during times of transition. Sara holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certificate.

 

Loran Mayes, Mayor, City of Wilburton

Mayor Loran Mayes, elected April 2023, has lived in Wilburton since 2019. She holds degrees in Parks and Recreation Management and Leadership and Communication. Previously Executive Director of the Armed Services YMCA of Oklahoma and a State Park Manager, Mayor Mayes oversees city operations, fiscal management, and public works. Active in civic life, she contributes through the Lion’s Club, Women of Wilburton, Leadership Latimer, and other community organizations.
