| Marnie Taylor began her tenure as President and CEO in January 2011 after a number of years serving on OKCNP’s Board of Directors. One of Oklahoma’s leading governance experts, she has more than 40 years of leadership in volunteerism, board service, fundraising, and community engagement. While Taylor has served on more than 30 boards, she currently serves on the boards of the Potts Family Foundation, Sunbeam Family Services, and the Friends of the Governor’s Mansion. Taylor is a graduate of Notre Dame. A native of South Bend, IN, she began her professional career in advertising with the Chicago Tribune. After marrying her husband, Clayton, the couple moved to OK. While she and Clayton had two brief stints away from the state, they have made Oklahoma their home for the past 45 years. Taylor is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class XXIV, Leadership Oklahoma City Class XV, SALLT Class X, Founding Director of Youth Leadership Exchange (YLX) and founding member of United Way of Central Oklahoma’s Women’s Leadership Society. She also served for 10 years as a historic preservation commissioner for Oklahoma City. Taylor is former Board Chairperson of the National Council of Nonprofits, Oklahoma County Citizens for Juvenile Justice, Oklahoma Outreach Foundation, CASA of Oklahoma County, ReMerge, Notre Dame Club of Oklahoma City, and Volunteer Center of Central Oklahoma. She has held leadership board positions for Oklahoma Arts Institute, World Neighbors, American Red Cross, and Junior League of Oklahoma City. For her service to the community, Taylor has received many honors and awards, including being named as the Journal Record’s “Women Making a Difference” in 2012, “Woman of the Year” in 2013, “Most Admired CEOs” in 2019, and “Power List of Innovative Women” in 2022. Additionally, Taylor has been honored with: Oklahoma State University’s “Forever Orange Award”, Junior League of Oklahoma City’s “Sustainer of the Year Award”, Oklahoma Outreach Foundation’s “Dare to Believe Award”, Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma City’s “Champions of Youth Award”, the Association of Women in Communication’s “Byliner Award for Nonprofit Leadership”, Oklahoma City University’s “Dulaney-Browne Society Award”, Junior League of Oklahoma City’s “President’s Spirit of Commitment Award”, Notre Dame Club of Oklahoma City’s “Person of the Year Award”, the National Association of Community Leadership’s “Distinguished Leader Award”, Oklahoma Hospitality Club’s “Woman in the News Award”, the Legislative Black Caucus’ “Special Recognition Award”, Oklahoma Magazine’s “Oklahomans of the Year”, and “Board Member of the Year” for both the American Red Cross and CASA of Oklahoma County, Inc. Most recently, Taylor was voted as OKC Friday’s “50 Most Powerful Oklahomans” and “Oklahoma City’s 5 Most Powerful Women”. Taylor’s additional affiliations include: Allied Arts Circle Club, Downtown OKC Rotary, Economics Club of OKC, Friends of OU Breast Institute, John L. Peters Society, National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum Annie Oakley Society and Prix de West Society, Oklahoma Academy for State Goals, Oklahoma Business Roundtable, Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits Chairman’s Circle, Oklahoma Women’s Coalition, Potts Family Legacy Society, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and Women for Oklahoma State University. Taylor enjoys spending time with husband Clayton, son Clay, daughter-in-law Becky and their three children Josie, Trip, and Jon-Peter of Oklahoma City as well as her son Clark of Crested Butte, CO. Taylor also enjoys fitness, hiking and skiing in Colorado, travelling, and reading. One of her proudest accomplishments is climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. |
